On March 19, 2024, an important event took place in the field of air navigation in Uzbekistan, which will stimulate the further development of digitalization and automation of processes, as well as improvement of the quality of air navigation services.
As part of the official visit of the delegation of the State Unitary Enterprise Center “Uzaeronavigation” to the global exhibition on air traffic management Airspace World 2024 in Geneva (Switzerland), agreements were signed between the provider of air navigation services of Uzbekistan and SITA company for the provision of services to the Tashkent and Samarkand Air Traffic Control Centers. SITA - Société Internationale de Télécommunication Aéronautiques - is a Swiss multinational leading information organization representing telecommunications and IT services in the global aviation industry.
The implementation of these contracts provides the opportunity to introduce such advanced technologies as CPDLC (Controller Pilot Data Link Communications) and DCL (Digital ATC Clearance), which in turn will allow for voiceless communication between the air traffic controller and the pilot at the digital level and will have a significant impact on increasing efficiency levels, safety and reducing the workload of air traffic controllers.
The contract package also provides for the introduction of modernized technology for delivering meteorological and aeronautical information at the airport (DАTIS) directly on board the aircraft via a digital communication linе.
This event is characterized as the implementation of one of the priority stages of the development strategy of the State Unitary Enterprise Center “Uzaeronavigation” in the field of digitalization of air traffic organization and service processes
